John Hood

John is one of South Australia’s most respected business and thought leaders. The current Chancellor of Flinders University, John is an accomplished Chartered Accountant with vast experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, and Humanee across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Hong Kong, and China.

A creative thinker, who is adept at problem-solving and building strong relationships, John strongly believes that an appropriate workplace culture makes a difference in people’s work and personal lives, as it enables long-term success, fruitful careers, and sustainable financial performance for all stakeholders.

This ethos was the driver for starting Humanee and developing a positive work-life culture with co-founder Adam Falkenberg.

John excels in business ownership, directorship, and advisory roles. He is passionate about helping organisations navigate disruptions, develop strategies, and foster positive cultures for sustainable success.

Before co-founding Humanee, John worked at PwC for 11 years and was a Managing Partner and CEO of mhm and a Partner at Deloitte.

The Director of co-working space Intersect Coworking and Chair of Gannon lifestyle communities and Sensei Productivity, John has served on the board for Port Adelaide Football Club, Foodbank SA, Guildhouse, Cumberland United Women’s Football Club and two terms at Flinders University (2004-2010 and 2017-now).

John particularly enjoys working with community organisations and finds great satisfaction in peoples’ work and personal lives.
